I guess Hal's constant questioning has stopped now. A favourite memory; when he took me sailing and the boat sprang a leak around the mast. We quickly pulled in to the dock and he gave me 25 cents to run and buy 25 pieces of bazooka to chew up as fast as possible and then caulk the mast step with it.

I spent many summers in Annisquam with the Auntie Debbie and Uncle Hal as a child and I will always remember special moments with Hal. He was larger than life- he had an amazing energy. I remember he would fly into the small house where we were staying with huge bluefish fresh off the boat- then fire up the outdoor rock grille for cookouts. He took us out in his boat for fun adventures- fishing for flounder- or go to Crane's Beach in a sailboat. Very often we were taken to seaside restaurants to have boisterous family dinners. As an adult I also saw him regularly I will never forget flying to Providence in his small plane- a very special experience. He was attentive, warm and approachable- a very thoughtful conversationalist. He loved to discuss the world, politics and the economy. He was a great man - and I will miss him very much.
